Sikeli Naivalu of La’ie was crowned the 53rd Meadow Gold Healthy Baby of O‘ahu, making him the healthiest and happiest baby in town. Sikeli is the son of Angel and Sai Naivalu. At 2 ½ years old, Sikeli has personality plus so much more, with his toy fire-knife and traditional grass skirt, he brought smiles to all.
More than 400 toddlers aged 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years of age competed for the title of O‘ahu’s healthiest baby in two preliminary rounds at Pearl Ridge Shopping Center and Ala Moana Center. From those two preliminary rounds, the 50 contestants with the highest scores were selected to compete in the final round on Sunday, July 9, at Ala Moana Center Stage.
The toddlers are judged on physical appearance, healthiness and personality, with each category scored on a 50-point scale. Sikeli garnered the most points of all the contestants and was awarded a $2,500 U.S. savings bond as well as numerous toys and prizes from Meadow Gold Dairies of Hawai‘i.

All winners also received various toys and prizes.
The annual Meadow Gold Healthy Baby Contests on O‘ahu, Kaua‘i, Maui, and in Kona and Hilo on the Big Island raise community awareness of the importance of teaching children good health and nutrition habits at an early age. Establishing proper habits starting in early childhood can lead to living a healthy lifestyle.
